Welsh Lookalikes

While watching the half-time "analysis" of the Wales v England match on Sky this weekend, I was puzzled to see Abdullah Gül, Turkish Foreign Minister, talking lucidly about the effectiveness (or not) of Sven Goran Eriksson's 4-5-1 system.

I was impressed by his versatility. It's not that often that you find an international statesman with such a firm grip on the problems facing the Welsh coach in building a successful team for the Euro 2008 campaign.

Further investigation revealed that it was in fact Wales' former world best goalie Neville Southall analysing possession and territory statistics from the first half, rather than the unprepossessing but hard-to-beat diplomat. Still impressive - but slightly disappointing.
